What we believe at SIPC is not man-made but has been revealed by God in Scripture. Our Statement of Faith is simply a summary of biblical teaching that explains what we as a local church agree the Bible teaches about God, the Bible, sin, the church, etc. This doesn't describe everything the Bible teaches, rather the things most necessary for a church to be united in together.
To be a member of a church is to be vitally connected to the life of a living, breathing body. It is to commit yourself to the good of that body, even as that body commits itself to you. Our church covenant is a set of promises that we make to one another as members of SIPC. If our Statement of Faith is our declaration of what we believe together then our Covenant is our statement about what we will do together.
Our Constitution is the set of rules we have agreed upon which help us to function well as a church. These are the procedures by which, among other things, we elect our leaders, add members to our church, remove members, and generally order ourselves as we seek to glorify God and encourage each other.
